This filter is rated at 750 gallons capacity. If the consumer uses one gallon of water per day in the form of water from the refrigerator dispenser and ice from the ice dispenser, the filter will last 750 days; i.e., just over TWO years. In general, there is no reason to replace the filter yearly, unless you have a really yuccky water source.
In a small household of two adults, the filter should last considerably longer than two years. Furthermore, with the addition of a filtered water dispenser at the sink (such as a GE undercounter unit), the refrigerator filter would be functional for a few years. The undercounter units have a quite large capacity and some use two filter cartridges. |

This filter was a snap to install, and once I did my water pressure from the dispenser was back to normal. If you've
got a refrigerator that uses one of these filters and the water's been coming out slow then it's probably time for a new filter. One word of advice: use a big water pitcher for the first use of the dispenser after the filter change - the pressure has to readjust and it will spit out a few huge blasts of water that will overwhelm your normal water glass. After the couple of big blasts though, you get constant good pressure, better than you remembered was even possible after the gradual slow down with your old filter. |

| Filter fits perfect. The tag/decal looked a little different than my old filter, but after much searching, all part numbers pointed to this filter for my Maytag 'frig. Much less expensive buying from amazon than an appliance store. My only problem was getting the old filter out. |

| These retail for close to $50 in stores like Home Depot, Menards, etc. I saved big here! We stopped buying bottled water all together now. My water is kind of hard and it tastes great once it's filtered. |

| So far no problems. We could tell it needed to be replaced because the water was beginning to taste gross again. We've had this filter for at least a month and the water still tastes good. The filter was really easy to replace and has never leaked or caused any problems. Delivery took a little longer than we expected although it could have been the free shipping option? |

I have been seaching for this filter and I found it here for the lowest price. I have searched at the manufacturer site, distributors and other appliance stores; same model but higher prices plus shipping and handling.
The filter comes in its original box and installation instructions (which it's real simple) and with the manufacturer warranty. I will definitely bookmark it for future purchases. |

If I want to have good, clean water coming out of the refrigerator, then I HAVE to buy this product. It works...which is another reason I HAVE to buy this product. I would much rather have access to the water coming out of my fridge than having a water filter pitcher, a water filter sink tap, or a water filter office cooler taking up half my kitchen space.
It also provides the water that makes the ice in our freezer, which is a lot easier than having to fill those ice trays all the time. I am very grateful for this water filter!! It makes our life (me and my wife) that much easier!!
I guess, if you think about it...I don't HAVE to buy this water filter...I GET to buy it!! |
