| I love the culligan water systems. The base that the cartridge goes into is made better than britas,With brita I was buying a new base with almost every cartridge change and culligan is superior in price ,quality and every other aspect. And I think the water also taste better than water that is filtered using brita.Try it and see for yourself |
A Water Faucet Filter That Actually Works!
|
| Review Date: November 8, 2009 |
| Reviewer: M. Schnitzer, New York, NY USA |
The Brita faucet filter does an excellent job of filtering out impurities from tap water -- that is, when it manages to stay attached to the faucet. However, in my experience with it (two years and two different models), a tremendous amount of my valuable time was wasted trying to reattach the filter after it would repeatedly fall off. Although I have no direct experience with the Pur faucet filter, my understanding (drawn from other reviews) is that it suffers from the same problem.
Happily, after purchasing the CULLIGAN Faucet Filter several months ago, I can now report with confidence that it is plagued by no such similar defect. In other words, once attached, it remains firmly in place, and works every bit as effectively as rival brands. So for anyone who has tried those other brands and encountered endless frustration in endeavoring to keep them attached to the faucet, my advice is: Don't give up just yet! Try the Culligan model. It's solidly built, competitively priced, and replacement cartridges are readily available from Amazon. For me, at least, the Culligan at last put an end to the gratuitous, time-wasting burden of having to continually reattach a recalcitrant water filter. |
Exactly what I was Looking for

This faucet water filter is compact and does not take up much space like the other filters on the market.
Fits in my kitchen sink perfectly without any adaptors that were provided.
If you are like me and need a compact size faucet filter...look no further. This product appears to sturdy and installed without any leaks like some other faucet filters do.
Highly recommeneded. |
Great for Apartment

| Honestly it did take a couple of days for me to get used to the taste (I had been purchasing large water jugs) but it's not a bad taste, just not bottled water. Very easy to install and very easy to replace. I bought it b/c others mentioned the "default" is "no filter" so it makes it really easy when washing dishes. I live in an apartment and this was the perfect, temporary, inexpensive fix. I will say Amazon is one of the only places I can find the filter replacements, so stock up if you can. |

The best water filters around

| I've used so many water filter systems for my faucet and these seem to be the only ones that work and last. Culligan is a good brand and builds very durable systems. What makes these filters really great is when it's time to change them, they just drop out from under the filters system, leaving no weird grease like fungus or growth that would occur with my other faucet filter systems. You just unscrew these filters to dispose and screw to replace. |
Good filter

| Despite the reviews mentioning problems with the PUR faucet filter, I purchased a PUR faucet filter from a local in-store retailer. I returned it because it wouldn't thread onto my standard thread faucet... Next purchase was this Culligan filter. I can't comment on taste comparison as the PUR was defective out of the box, but the Culligan is superior construction, a quality product. As other reviewers states, the flow is decreased when using the filter. I'm quite happy with this purchase. Good quality product at great price with fast, free shipping when including an extra filter with the order. Great prices for the replacement filters also. |
Saves us $10/mo on bottled water

We had an old GE faucet filter whose element had long since worn out and we went to buying bottled water. So, we recently tried to buy refills for it and couldn't, but found out that the Culligan FM-15RA refills would fit it. So, we bought five of them.
Now, we are drinking Culligan-filtered water with dinner and refilling our used bottles again. The water tastes better than the originals! We're sold on Culligan refills from now on. |

Feel so clean with the chlorine gone

It was easy to install the refill. I love the feel of no chlorine on my skin.
It did take someone with more upper arm strength to install it. I'm 64 and couldn't install it. It took my son just minutes to have it up and working. |
Great product

These are difficult to find where I live, so ordering from Amazon has made life much easier. The price is great, the service was excellent--no hassles which is how I like to shop.
I've used these for a long while and it definitely takes the chemical taste from the water. No need to buy bottled water if you have these on your faucet.

| The filter housing has a valve that closes when the water is turned off. I use filtered water at the sink often and this is the one to buy trust me. I have owened many water filters and spent a lot more $$$ |

Faucet filter review

| What Culligan has made available to consumers, at minimal expense, is an effective alternative to an overall, more-involved and complete--and far more expensive!--H2O softening system. Granted: a complete system is more efficient and desireable by far, since it will accommodate the whole house. However, for great tasting drinking water--again @ minimal expense--this is the way to go. Be advised, however: you'll be replacing the cartridge every few months! |
STILL Love It!

| Well, now that I've had this for a year, I just wanted to update my review. I still haven't had ANY leaks and I still love this filter. I will never buy another Pur or Brita filter again, OR spend $20-$22 on a refill cartridge. At $11.99 each the refills for this unit have saved me a lot of money already, and I actually like this unit 10x better. Thanks Culligan/Amazon! |

I love this filter because it is easy to install, but the best is the price! Some of those replacement filters out there are ridiculously priced - I'm glad I went with Culligan!

| We used to have the 'Pur' faucet filter which was VERY dissappointing. The water flow became ridiculously weak quickly, and either filters had to be replaced every other week or cups had to be filled overnight. We took a chance with the less known Culligan and never regret it. Excellent water flow, excellent taste, each filter lasts about a month. Filters are relatively cheap, arrive quickly with Amazon Prime, and are easy to replace. The faucet unit takes SO much less space than the Pur one. We fill our water bottles and save tons of $$$. Go for it! |
works perfectly fine

This filter works just great. I always used Pur faucet filters, but if you have high water pressure, sooner or later, it will break up... This one, instead, has no problems at all and the water tastes exactly the same. Good deal for the price.
The only flaw is a lack of an indicator that tells when it's time to change it, but they send you a sticker to put on your calendar :) minimalist, but efficient. |
